Thanksgiving

Ever wish that you could enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner without all of the hassle? No going bankrupt buying groceries, no long hours of baking, no dishes to wash after the meal. Well, we did! We had a wonderful dinner with Grammy Smith on Thanksgiving at the Dex (that's the name of the university cafeteria). The food was delicious - turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, salad, rolls, green beans, and pumpkin and apple pies. And all of it was free! The only problem was that we were the only people on campus that came to the dinner! On one hand we felt really bad that the Dex was open and staffed just for us, but we were also glad that we showed up so they didn't fix all that food for nothing. Anyways, we had a wonderful dinner, and then we went home and had a Christmas carol sing-a-long. It was a great evening!

Best Friends

This is Addie and her best friend, Jordan, who lives in the dorm next to us. We often eat dinner at the Dex with Jordan and her parents. They are some of our best friends. We have known them since before the girls were born, and so it has been a lot of fun to watch as Addie and Jordan grow up together. Addie affectionately calls her "Ba-ba." Unfortunately, Jordan and Addie love the same kind of blankie. There have been numerous tears shed over stolen blankies, but hey... these are girls, so tears come with the territory!

Another Easter Picture of the Girls

Busy Times

It has been a long time since I last posted. The end of the school year is a very busy time for our family! The boys in the dorm moved out the first weekend in May. My (Angie) grandma came and spent the week with us, and was a huge help with our girls. Lauren and Brenna (and Angie) will finish school next week. We are all ready to enjoy the summer!
Since our last post, we've taken a few pictures of the girls. The one you see here has quite a story behind it. I (Angie) had gotten the girls all bathed and into their Easter dresses on Saturday. The weather report said that it would be rainy on Sunday, so we figured if we wanted pictures outside then we would need to get them done on Saturday. Right when we got outside, the wind started to pick up, and a few drops started falling. We were so determined to get pictures that we grabbed the camera and our huge umbrella, and we started across campus to a beautifully blossoming tree. Addie had just started walking, and we could not keep her contained. Lauren and Brenna were a little bit annoyed with having to take pictures in the first place, and I think we were all a little bit frustrated by the uncooperative weather. After taking a few pictures of the girls walking around, we decided that we should get one shot at the three of them sitting on a little park bench. We arranged the girls, and I started to take pictures. Unfortunately, I snapped one and then realized that the batteries were running low in the camera. As I was fiddling with it, I heard Lauren let out a yelp and Addie started crying. As I looked up, I saw that Addie had fallen off the park bench! And Lauren was yelling because Addie was holding onto her hair! Luckily for Addie, she had quite a handful, and it helped to break her fall. Needless to say, the picturesque moment was over. We loaded up our things and went home.
So, please enjoy this picture of the girls, and have a little laugh at our expense. It was quite a circus!

Baby Addie's 1st Birthday

February 18th was Aderyn's first birthday. It was a low-key event, but Addie still got to eat a piece of cake in the Dex surrounded by friends and family. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by - what a whirlwind! Addie is such a delight to us. It seems that she is always happy and ready for adventure. She is crawling everywhere at record speed, plays peek-a-boo, and cruises furniture. A lot of people ask if she is walking yet, but it seems like she's not quite ready. With her being our third child, we are kind of relieved. Hopefully we'll get a little more time with our "baby" before she starts running off in every direction.

Recouperating

Lauren is feeling great!
Brushing her remaining teeth has been a little bit of a challenge - trying to be careful of her healing gums. Also, she would like everyone to know that she can still whistle!
Here's a picture of her "new" smile.

Teeth pulled

Today Lauren had six baby teeth pulled (under general anesthesia). She has crowding issues both on the top and on the bottom, and they were concerned that two of her front teeth were fused to each other and ankylosed to the bone. The good news was that the roots has fused to each other, but not to the bone. This meant that the removal was easier than expected - which means the recovery will be easier too. This morning when we got home, she was numb and swollen. After a couple servings of sherbet and chicken noodle soup for lunch, she is back to her old self. She still thinks that her mouth looks a little bit weird, but the fact that she got to take a day off school, watch movies, and eat ice cream seems to be worth it to her (not to mention the money that she's expecting to have under her pillow when she wakes up in the morning!)

Under Construction

We are trying to figure this whole "blog thing" out, so please be patient. It will be up and running soon.
