Final Piano Recital

This week has been filled with many "lasts". Tonight was Lauren's final piano recital. She has had a wonderful teacher this year who has been energetic and encouraging (two things that really motivate Lauren). Lauren was awarded with five certificates and a ribbon for her many achievements this year. Way to go, Lauren!

Our New Home!

My friend, Suzanne (well, she'll be my new friend as soon as I meet her), sent me several pictures of our new home at Hebron! These came via email on Friday, and they were my sanity over the weekend. Several times during our moving sale I found myself retreating to the office to look at these pictures - it really helped me as I watched people walk away with things that I have owned for the past several years.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our service on Sunday night at College Church! We were blessed to be with all of you, and we hope that you were encouraged and reminded that God is working - even when we don't see the whole picture. We hope those of you who are visiting our family blog for the first time will take a few minutes to look at some of our older posts, and will enjoy reading a little more about what we've been up to and where we are going this summer. We will keep updating it, so please check back often!

Ballet Video

Here are two videos of Brenna at her recital. The first one is her ballet dance, and the second one is her tap dance.

Ballet

Brenna has been in ballet this year, and has loved every minute of it (almost). Her class has been on Wednesday afternoon, and on more than one occasion she has said on the way to class that she hates it and doesn't want to go. However, she has never gone home hating ballet! This is due, in part, to her wonderful teacher, Miss Annie.
Today, Brenna has two ballet recitals. Ryan, Lauren, and Grammy Smith are going to the matinee performance, I will go this evening, and Addie is not invited (okay, so that's only partially true... she was invited but none of us want to take her).
I took some video footage at the dress rehearsal last night, and I'll post it as soon as I figure out how to get it rotated. Because as everyone knows, a ballerina must be photographed vertically!

New Family Picture

This morning, our good fried Kendra came over and took our picture. Our schedules are so crazy that she had to come over at 7:45am so we could get it done before school and work. The picture was taken in front of the new fountain at the Brandt Center on the NNU campus. It will be on our prayer cards that we hope to have in time for our June 1st concert at College Church. I think it turned out really great - thanks Kendra!

Grandma Bass

Tonight I took my Grandma Bass to the airport. She has been staying with us since April 26th. This is the third year that she has come during finals week to take care of Addie while Ryan is busy closing down the dorm. I don't know what we would have done without her. She has such a great attitude, and she loves being with Addie (and Addie loves being with her!). This week she even made us a chicken noodle dinner and two pans of cinnamon rolls.
It was really hard to say goodbye to her at the airport. It didn't hit me until I was giving her a hug at the security check point that this was the last time that she would come to Idaho to take care of the girls. And even though we will see her this summer, I'm already anticipating how hard it is going to be to say goodbye in July. If you're reading this - I love you, Grandma!
